Controls
- Skip link, landmarks and visible focus rings on the chrome.
- Tabs use a tablist. Left and Right move between test types.
- Fullscreen: Esc exits, Left and Right change field, Space advances when a button is not focused, H opens help, P pauses.
- Touch: the first tap reveals Previous, Next and Exit. Swipe is not required.
- Target size for the main buttons is at least 44 by 44 pixels.
Motion and flashing
Reduced motion turns off decorative drifting and short transitions. Fields still change instantly, because a fade would mix colours. Nothing flashes. Change colours automatically walks through white, black, red, green, blue and grey about every 5 seconds. If the browser prefers reduced motion, that walk stays manual even when the box is ticked. Next and Previous still move the field.
Screen readers
A live region announces the field name, the step count and a short hint when the field changes. The pause screen is labelled as not a test colour. Swatches include the name and the hex, not colour alone.
Known limits
Looking for a dead pixel requires sight. The page cannot describe a mark it cannot see, and it will not pretend a screen reader can scan the panel. Some of the test colours are a poor experience if you are sensitive to bright fields. Use Pause or Exit.
